Digital Smile Design

Digital Smile Design or DSD is a software system that I use in my office together with my dental technician to outline and design and digitally set up on the computer where your teeth should be how large they should be the position of them in your mouth and how your reconstruction will look to go over it with the patient even before anything is begun meaning after the models of the remaining teeth are made after the x-rays are made and after photographs of all the teeth and even a short video of the patient all of this is put together and formalized on the computer with the dental technician and then the dental technician doctor and patient sit down for a three-way conference so that the presentation of the expected result can be shown to the patient prior to any work that has been done in the mouth and that’s why it’s called a Digital Smile Design.
